The fort stands at a height of approximately 3389 feet. The trek is usually scaled by pro trekkers as it is located at a height of 2300 feet with rock-cut steps that take you to the summit. The climb takes almost 2.5 hours and remains closed from 5 pm to 6 am for the safety of the trekkers – so make sure to get started on the hiking trail early in the morning.

Located at almost 2700 feet, Raigad Fort is located in Mahad amidst the hills of the Sahayadri range. There is only one pathway to the fort which is surrounded by deep valleys on all three sides. The trek to this fort is made up of 1737 steps that take about 1.5- 2 hours to cover. The trek has a medium difficulty level but the route is an enjoyable one with lush hills and greenery around.
